Benzyl salicylate is used extensively in perfumery as a key structural component in many compositions and is a key component of the Mellis accord. Alone it smells subtle, warm, balsamic and petal like. It's very useful as a long lasting structural component to underpin floral accords and the heart of perfumes in general. It helps blend other materials and is often used liberally.
