Aldehyde C10 is one of the classic aliphatic aldehydes which became famous with the introduction of Channel's famous number 5 perfume. Naturally it occurs in citrus peel oils and contributes to the bright sparkle of those oils. It's very potent and smells oily and citrusy alone. It's effective in trace amounts at imparting a sparkling lift to perfume compositions.
